Katayoun is an experienced instructor and professional performer of Middle Eastern dances, a leader, and a respected member of the Middle Eastern dance community for over 20 years.

She places special emphasis on music interpretation and cultural authenticity while encouraging students to develop their own unique styles.

The curriculum is tailored to the needs of each class as well as individual students and is rich in technique, cultural information, and artistic expression.
Students are exposed to Egyptian Oriental and folkloric belly dance music and movements, as well as Classical Persian dance and Iranian folkloric traditions.
Katayoun emphasizes good form and strong technique through details that engage the entire body and an awareness of the music that stimulates the imagination.

Interesting information about Nadira
In 2003 Nadira began to study dance with the Fat Chance Belly Dance video series (you would be amazed how many tribal girls started with Volumes I-V!!). She was hooked.
A fortunate meeting with Olivia of Zafira (Zagareet’s magazine Troupe of the Year) garnered a recommendation to study with Taaj Fi Qalbi, The Bellydance Trainer.
Nadira then went on to take the General Skills Intensive with Caroleena Nerriccio of FatChance Bellydance and Megha Gavin of Devyani.
Nadira performs at restaurants weddings, haflas and continues to support the belly dance community.

Anthea has been a full-time professional teacher and performer for over 20 years and was a featured dancer at many D.C. venues.
She also studied and performed Middle Eastern folkloric dances with the Topkapi Dancers for 10 years.
She has developed an original ITS (group improvisation) belly dance format, and she has also composed and released a CD of New Age Bellydance music.
She directs the PRISM Dancers, a non-professional performing group in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
She has written two instructional booklets:
- Kawakib’s Dance Tips covers Oriental Dance composition, music interpretation, improvisation, and choreography
- and the Guide to Teaching Middle Eastern Dance is for new teachers or teachers who want ideas on planning their class material.
